Reed House

Reed House, a distinguished historical edifice, serves as the central hub of the Walford Junior School Campus. G-Force undertook an extensive restoration to preserve its architectural integrity while enhancing its functionality for contemporary educational use.

This project commenced with meticulous heritage stone masonry, addressing the wear of time and ensuring the structural soundness of the building. We employed traditional techniques to repair and repoint the stonework, honoring the original craftsmanship and attention to detail.
A new heritage galvanised roof was installed, with a deeper profile flute to replicate the original roof while providing modern durability and weather resistance.

Meticulous restoration of heritage stone masonry and cast iron lacework ensured conservation of the building’s heritage elements.
Specialist carpentry played a pivotal role in the restoration, particularly in refurbishing the intricate timber elements that define Reed House’s character.
Our skilled carpenters carefully restored decorative woodwork, including verandah posts and trims, ensuring each piece reflected the building’s heritage.
The cast iron lacework, a hallmark of the structure’s Victorian character, was carefully restored, with damaged sections replicated to seamlessly match the original patterns.

The original tessellated tiling, a significant feature, was replaced with precision. We sourced period-appropriate materials to recreate the intricate tile patterns, maintaining the building’s historical ambiance.
This attention to detail extended throughout the project, ensuring that every aspect of the restoration was in harmony with Reed House’s heritage.
