The Medindie Residence project involved a comprehensive extension and renovation to the rear of a character home, seamlessly blending modern functionality with the property’s historical charm.

The rear extension introduced a spacious open-plan area, encompassing the kitchen, living, and dining spaces. This design fosters a harmonious flow between cooking, dining, and relaxation zones, enhancing the home’s suitability for both daily living and entertaining.

To honor the residence’s historical significance, the front façade underwent meticulous restoration. This process involved constructing a new veranda and installing tessellated tiling, reinstating the home’s original grandeur and enhancing its street presence.

The project also included the construction of a new pool house and carport. The pool house offers a dedicated space for leisure and poolside activities, while the carport provides sheltered parking, both structures designed to complement the existing architecture.

An extensive alfresco area was incorporated, featuring a fully equipped outdoor kitchen. This addition creates an inviting environment for outdoor dining and gatherings, effectively extending the home’s living space into the outdoors.

Through thoughtful design and careful execution, the Medindie Residence project successfully merges contemporary living requirements with the timeless elegance of the original character home, resulting in a residence that respects its heritage while embracing modernity.
